Old unrelated video clips falsely shared as visuals of Bollywood actor Dharmendra’s final rites

A couple of video clips (here, here, and here) of a vehicle decorated with flowers, surrounded by a huge crowd on a road resembling a funeral procession, are circulating on social media. They are being shared as visuals of the last rites of veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who passed away on 24 November 2025. We will fact-check this claim through this article.

Claim: This video shows the final rites procession of veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who passed away on 24 November 2025.

Fact: The video clips predate Dharmendra’s death and have been available on the internet since at least September 2025. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

To verify the claim, we conducted a reverse image search on several keyframes from the video clips. This search led us to social media posts from September 2025 that contained the same clips (here, here, and here).

This confirms that these clips are unrelated to Dharmendra’s funeral procession for his last rites, as he passed away in November 2025. In these earlier posts, the video clips were labeled as visuals of Zubeen Garg’s funeral procession.

Through a keyword search, we found video reports (here, here, here, and here) from September 2025 that showed the final rites of Bollywood singer Zubeen Garg, who passed away in the same month (here and here).

The decorated ambulance, banners featuring Zubeen’s photo, and the crowd seen in the viral video match the funeral footage shared in media reports and stock images covering the singer’s death (here, here, and here). According to media reports, this procession took place in Guwahati, Assam.

Furthermore, reports on Dharmendra’s final rites, held in Mumbai, can be read here and here.

To sum up, old unrelated video clips are being falsely shared as visuals of Bollywood actor Dharmendra’s final rites.
