Old images from Bangladesh are being circulated now as BJP Polling agents beaten in Bengal

In West Bengal, even after the completion of elections and declaration of the poll results, the political turmoil hasn’t ended. In a recent Facebook post, a user alleged that three youth were punished for working as polling agents for BJP in the recent elections. Let’s try to analyze the claims made in the post.

Claim: In West Bengal, three youth were punished for working as polling agents for BJP

Fact: In Cox Bazar of Bangladesh, three men were beaten for looting the valuables of the people of the Rohingya community. The photo pertaining to this incident is being shared with a false narrative. Hence, the claim stands FALSE.  

When the image in the post is run through Yandex Reverse Image Search, it was found to be that of an incident that took place in Bangladesh in 2011. At Cox Bazar in Bangladesh, three men were punished for looting the clothes, silver and gold from the people of Rohingya community. The photo pertaining to this incident is now being falsely shared as three youth punished for working as polling agents of BJP.
