Old image falsely shared as ‘Map of India redesigned by an American CEO to show India’s effective handling of the COVID-19 crisis’

An image of a map of India which shows each state of the country represented with a country is being widely shared on social media with a message. The crux of the message is that an American CEO has redesigned that map of India by representing each state with a country equivalent to that state’s population and has explained to his employees the efficient manner in which the Government of India is handling the COVID-19 crisis. But, FACTLY has found the image to be existing much prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the world. The same image was found to be existing on the internet at least since 2016.
