Claim: Ratan Tata has announced that Tata Group of companies will not recruit any of the JNU students from now.

Fact: Ratan Tata did not make any such announcement regarding the recruitment of JNU students by the Tata Group. It is fake news. So, the claim is FALSE.

When searched if Ratan Tata has made any such announcements, no corroborating information was found. It is quite unlikely that such an announcement would have gone unnoticed by the media. When searched on the Tata Group’s website, no information was found about Ratan Tata’s decision to stop hiring the JNU students.

During the search process, a 2016 article of ‘Economics Times’ was found in the results. In the article, it can be read that, in 2016, when similar news has got circulated in the wake of the arrest of JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar on charges of sedition, the Tata Group has clarified through a tweet that Mr. Tata hasn’t made any such statement. When searched on the Twitter account of ‘Tata Group’, the tweet was found and it can be seen here. So, the same news has now resurfaced in the wake of recent violence at JNU.

To conclude, Ratan Tata hasn’t announced that the Tata Group of companies will not recruit JNU students.
