Fact: The Press Information Bureau(PIB) – Ahmedabad office has clarified that the news about Russian President Vladimir Putin attending the Jallikattu event (in 2020) along with PM Modi in Tamilnadu is fake and wrong. So, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A piece of news that Russian President Vladamir Putin will be witnessing the ‘Jallikattu’ event along with PM Modi at Madurai in Tamilnadu in 2020 is doing the rounds for the past week. When searched on Google with keywords ‘Vladamir Putin and PM Modi to attend jallikattu in Tamilnadu’, many search results were obtained. From the search result of ‘ANI’, it was found that a few sections of the media had misreported that Putin would attend Jallikattu at Tamilnadu. But, no such program was scheduled.

The Press Information Bureau(PIB) Ahmedabad office has also clarified through a tweet that the news about Russian President Vladimir Putin attending the Jallikattu event (in 2020) along with PM Modi in Tamilnadu is fake and wrong.
