Neither TATA nor Tesla has launched levitating shoes; the viral videos are AI-generated

A couple of videos are going viral on social media claiming that the TATA Group (here) and Tesla (here, here) have launched levitating shoes that allow a person to hover a few inches above the ground. The posts further allege that TATA unveiled the levitating shoe at an Indian tech expo, while at the Indian International Consumer Expo (IICE) 2025, Tesla showcased “TESLA GLIDE.” Let’s verify the claim made in the post in this article.

Claim: The videos show the TATA Group and Tesla launching levitating shoes that let a person hover a few inches above the ground.

Fact: The videos do not show real products launched by the TATA Group or Tesla. Both videos were created and shared by digital creator Ajin Joseph, who makes AI visuals for brands and movies, and uploaded on his Instagram page @multiversematrix. AI content detection tools flagged the viral videos as generated using Artificial Intelligence. There are no credible reports or official announcements from either the TATA Group or Tesla about any such product, and no event called the Indian International Consumer Expo (IICE) 2025 exists. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

To verify the claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords, but did not find any credible media reports about the TATA Group or Tesla launching levitating shoes. Given the significance of such a development, it would have received widespread coverage in both national and international media. However, no such reports were found. We also reviewed the official websites of the TATA Group and Tesla, but found no information about such a development. Additionally, we did not find any information suggesting that an event called the Indian International Consumer Expo (IICE) 2025 exists.

We then conducted a reverse image search of keyframes from the TATA levitating shoes video, which led us to the same video uploaded to the Instagram handle of Ajin Joseph (@multiversematrix) on 06 November 2025. The description of the post stated, “This video is AI-generated. The product isn’t real.” Upon reviewing his profile, we found that another viral video claiming to show “TESLA GLIDE” was also uploaded to his handle on 10 November 2025. However, this post did not mention that the video was AI-generated or that the product isn’t real.

We learned from the bio of Ajin Joseph that he is a Social Media Content Specialist, and for the Multiverse Matrix page, and creates AI visuals for movies and brands. We also noticed that he frequently posts similar AI-generated videos on his page (here, here, and here).

To further verify whether the viral videos are AI-generated, we analysed them using the Hive AI content detection tool. The tool flagged both videos (here, here) with an aggregate score of 99.9%, indicating that they are most likely AI-generated.

To sum up, neither TATA nor Tesla has launched levitating shoes; the viral videos are AI-generated.
