Claim: Navjot Singh Sidhu said BCCI should remove Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir and reinstate Rohit Sharma as captain if they want to win the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Fact: There is no truth in the claim that Navjot Singh Sidhu said that BCCI should remove Ajit Agarkar, Gautam Gambhir and reinstate Rohit Sharma as captain. Sidhu himself denied the statement on his official X handle, calling the viral claim fake. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

To verify the claim, we did a Google keyword search but found no credible reports, video clips, or official statements of Navjot Singh Sidhu making such comments.

During the investigation, we found a social media post dated 20 October 2025, where Sidhu replied (archived) to a viral post on his official X handle, saying: “Never said it, don’t spread fake news, never imagined it. Shame on you.”
