Claim: Ratan Tata’s dog, ‘Goa,’ has died after not eating for three days, mourning its owner’s death.

Fact: Ratan Tata’s dog is alive. Senior Mumbai police officer Sudhir Kudalkar provided an update in an Instagram post after verifying with Shantanu Naidu, a close associate of Ratan Tata, who confirmed that Goa is doing fine. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of the keyframes from the viral video led us to an Instagram post from Senior Mumbai police officer Sudhir Kudalkar on 15 October 2024. He is known for his love for animals and their rescue. In the post, he captioned, “A WhatsApp message is circulating about Late Ratan Tata Ji’s pet dog, Goa, passing away. I verified this with Shantanu Naidu, a close associate of Tata Ji, and he confirmed that Goa is doing fine. Please ensure you verify facts before sharing posts,”
