An edited video is shared as Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto saying ‘‘Our people are in India’s Parliament’’

A video (here and here) shared on social media shows Pakistan’s former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari saying, “our people are sitting in India’s Parliament …we can run our propaganda there.” The video, which looks like a news clipping, contains another video clip of Congress party MP Gaurav Gogoi in which he talks about the expensive jets that India lost in combat (possibly during Operation Sindoor). Apart from this, a few social media users are sharing a photo (here and here) of the Gandhi family with the Bhutto family, along with the same claim. We will fact‑check this claim through this article.

Archived versions of these posts can be found here and here.

Claim: This video shows Bilawal Bhutto saying, “Our people are in India’s Parliament.”

Fact: The video uses old footage of Bhutto’s speech from Pakistan’s National Assembly, to which a manipulated audio has been dubbed. The original speech, delivered on 7 May 2025, contains no such remarks. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

To verify this claim, we had a closer look at the viral video and found that the lip movement does not match Bilawal Bhutto’s speech (audio) at several places. Suspecting that it could be a dubbed video, we ran a reverse image search on a few keyframes in the viral video and found Bhutto’s address in Pakistan’s National Assembly on 7 May 2025, shortly after India launched Operation Sindoor. The visuals of this speech match the viral clip of Bilawal Bhutto.

This was part of the Pakistani parliament session held on 7 May 2025, which was live-streamed on the ‘PTV Parliament’ YouTube channel. The video of this speech is also available on the Pakistan People’s Party’s YouTube channel, in which Bhutto is seen condemning India’s nighttime strikes by calling them cowardly. Bhutto is the chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party’s

After watching this speech thoroughly, we learned that the first sentence he speaks in the viral video, his physical actions, and those of the ones around him, and the edit match with the original video at around 41:13

After he says ‘Kaun raat ke andhere mein hamle karte hein?’ he says ‘chor raat ke andhere mein hamle karte hein, buzdil raat ke andhere mein hamle karte hein..,’ unlike the viral video, in which he says, ‘hum toh Hindustan ke wazir-e-azam ke saamne, uske sansad mein hamare propaganda bhulwa sakte hai… hamare log unke sansad mein bhaite hein.

His original voice in this video and the speed of his delivery are also quite different from the viral video. Nowhere in his whole speech does he say, “our people are sitting in India’s Parliament …we can run our propaganda there,” as being claimed in the viral posts. This makes it clear that the viral video overlays a manipulated audio on Bhutto’s speech.

Additionally, to check whether he made any such remarks recently, we performed a keyword search on the internet and found no news reports to validate the claim.

To sum up, a doctored video is being shared as real visuals of Bilawal Bhutto saying, “our people are in India’s Parliament.”
