Doctored image of Golwalkar’s book falsely claims that girls from O.B.C., S.T., and S.C. should be trapped and made prostitutes

A post going viral on social media (here, here, and here) claims that M.S. Golwalkar stated in his book “Bunch of Thoughts” that “Girls of O.B.C, S.T., and S.C. should be trapped in the love trap and made prostitutes.” Let’s verify the claim through this article.

Claim: M.S.Golwalkar stated in his book “Bunch of Thoughts” that “Girls of O.B.C., S.T., and S.C. should be trapped in love and made prostitutes.”

Fact: M.S.Golwalkar’s book does not mention that girls from O.B.C., S.T., and S.C. should be trapped in the guise of love and made prostitutes. We reviewed Golwalkar’s book and found no such statement. The book focuses on Hindu society, nationalism, and critiques of social structures. However , in September 2018, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat rejected parts of Golwalkar’s “Bunch of Thoughts.” He said reservations should remain until communities no longer need them to address inequalities. Regarding the SC/ST Act, he acknowledged societal victimization and emphasized the need for protective laws while warning against their misuse. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

We reviewed M.S.Golwalkar’s ‘Bunch of Thoughts’ thoroughly and found no statement suggesting that girls from OBC, SC, or ST communities should be trapped in the guise of love and turned into “prostitutes.” The book does not directly or indirectly endorse such ideas. Instead, Golwalkar’s discussions focus on various aspects of Hindu society, nationalism, and critiques of certain social structures and religious conversions.

In September 2018, media reports(here and here) indicated that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed aspects of Golwalkar’s Bunch of Thoughts. He affirmed support for reservations as per the Constitution, stating they should continue until the beneficiary communities decide they no longer need them, as they aim to correct historical inequalities. Regarding the Parliament’s action on the SC/ST Act, he acknowledged societal victimization and emphasized the need for protective laws while cautioning against their misuse, which he noted is currently happening.

To sum up, the Doctored image of Golwalkar’s book falsely claims that girls from O.B.C., S.T., and S.C. should be trapped in the guise of love and made prostitutes.
