BTS footage from the film ‘Ek Chatur Naar’ is falsely shared as a woman dancing in front of police officers after receiving bail
A video (here and here) of a woman performing the Nagin dance in front of a police station, seemingly taunting police officers, is doing the rounds on social media. It is being claimed that she did this act after receiving bail. Some people are sharing this video and its screenshots, claiming that this incident happened in Kotwali police Station in Uttar Pradesh. We fact-check this claim through this article.
Claim: Video shows a woman performing the Nagin dance outside a police station, taunting the police officers.
Fact: This is a behind-the-scenes (BTS) clip of the 2025 Bollywood film ‘Ek Chatur Naar’ featuring actor Sushanth Singh and actress Chhaya Kadam. There are no credible news reports of such an incident at a police station in UP. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
To check the veracity of the viral claim, we performed a keyword search to check if such an incident was reported by the media recently. However, we did not find any such reports validating the viral claim. Also, in the video, we can see a camera operator and a boom mic operator recording the woman’s dance, which could mostly mean that the video clip is from a film or a TV series shoot and not a real incident.
To learn more about the video, we performed a reverse image search using a few keyframes from the viral video and found the same video on Instagram, uploaded by well-known Bollywood actor Sushanth Singh.
Singh uploaded this video on 12 September 2025 and stated that this is a behind-the-scenes clip from the shooting of the film ‘Ek Chatur Naar. In the post’s description, he stated that he re-posted the video from the mgr_studios Instagram page.
They uploaded the video on the same day in collaboration with actress Chhaya Kadam, who is the one performing the Nagin dance in the viral video.
The film ‘Ek Chatur Naar’ featuring Divya Khosla and Neil Nitin Mukesh was released on 12 September 2025. Sushanth Sigh and Chhaya Kadam play supporting characters in the film.
