On 21 November 2025, an Indian Air Force (IAF) Tejas fighter jet crashed during its aerobatic display at the Dubai Airshow 2025. The pilot, Wing Commander Namansh Syal from Kangra, lost his life in the accident. The IAF has announced a court of inquiry to determine the cause of the crash and has expressed condolences to the officer’s family (here, here, and here).
Following the incident, a video is circulating on social media (here, here, and here) claiming to show an Indian Air Force (IAF) aerobatic display performing aerial manoeuvres at the Dubai Airshow in November 2025. Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.
Claim: The video shows an Indian Air Force (IAF) aerobatic display performing aerial manoeuvres at the Dubai Airshow in November 2025.
Fact: The video is unrelated to the Indian Air Force (IAF) aerobatic display at the Dubai Airshow in November 2025. The video has been available on the internet since at least 29 June 2025 and therefore predates the Dubai Airshow, which took place between 17 November 2025 and 21 November 2025. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
A reverse image search of key frames from the viral video led us to the same video on the YouTube channel Mr. Ytubevlog, dated 29 June 2025, which claimed to show aerobatics at the annual Jesolo Air Show in Jesolo, Italy. This confirms the video predates the Dubai Airshow 2025, held from 17 November 2025 to 21 November 2025.
We also found several other social media posts (here, here) sharing similar videos, all identifying the event as the Jesolo Air Show. On 29 June 2025, the verified Jesolo Tourism Instagram account posted the identical clip, crediting it to the 27th edition of the Jesolo Air Show, which took place on 28 June 2025.
We also found a photo uploaded by the European Airshow Council on Facebook on 14 July 2025, showing visuals similar to those seen in the viral video. A review on the European Air Show website revealed that the Jesolo Air Show was held on 28 June 2025 and was organised by the City of Jesolo. The show concluded with the traditional display by the Frecce Tricolori, the Italian aerobatic team consisting of eight aircraft, seven flying in formation and one solo pilot.
According to reports (here, here), on 28 June 2025, the 27th edition of the Jesolo Air Show was held. The three-hour event attracted a large audience and featured several high-adrenaline aerobatic performances. Furthermore, no credible reports or official records indicate that the Indian Air Force (IAF) participated in the Jesolo Air Show. The event is primarily known for the participation of the Italian Air Force aerobatic team, Frecce Tricolori.
However, we could not independently verify when this video was recorded or at which event it was filmed. But based on the available evidence, it is clear that the video predates the Indian Air Force (IAF) aerobatic display at the Dubai Airshow in November 2025 and is unrelated to the event.
To sum up, an old, unrelated video is being shared with the false claim that it shows an IAF airshow in Dubai in November 2025.
