An old, unrelated video from Dausa, Rajasthan, is shared falsely linking it to the 2025 ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar

On 17 August 2025, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Sasaram, Bihar, a 16-day march covering over 1,300 km across more than 20 districts of the state. The march was launched against the backdrop of the Congress’s accusations of “vote chori” against the ECI and the INDIA Bloc’s opposition to the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. The campaign will conclude with a rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on 01 September 2025 (here, here, and here).

In this context, a video showing a massive crowd is being circulated on social media (here, here, and here), with the claim that it shows people gathering to see Rahul Gandhi during the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar. Let’s verify the claim made in the post in this article.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The video shows a huge crowd gathered to see Rahul Gandhi during the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar.

Fact: The video predates the 2025 ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar and is unrelated to the event. It has been online since at least December 2022, and the location is identified as Agra Road, Dausa, Rajasthan. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of key frames from the viral video led us to several social media posts (here, here, and here) dated 16 December 2022, featuring the same video. This confirms that the video predates the 2025 ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ and is unrelated to it. These posts claimed that the video was from the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Dausa, Rajasthan.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra passed through Dausa, Rajasthan, on 15 December 2022. The Rajasthan leg of the yatra began on 05 December 2022 from Jhalawar and concluded on 20 December 2022, covering approximately 485 km across six districts: Jhalawar, Kota, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, and Alwar (here, here, and here). Rahul Gandhi also posted a live-stream video of the yatra on 15 December 2022 with the caption: LIVE: Bharat Jodo Yatra | Golya to Molai Village | Dausa | Rajasthan.

We also traced the location of the viral video on Google Maps and identified it as Agra Road, Dausa, Rajasthan. The buildings and towers seen in the video match those on Street View, as shown in the comparison below.

However, we could not independently verify when the video was filmed or the context of the gathering. Based on the available evidence, it is confirmed that the viral video is old and unrelated to the 2025 ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar.

To sum up, an old, unrelated video from Dausa, Rajasthan, is shared falsely linking it to the 2025 ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar.
