On 15 September 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new terminal building of Purnia Airport in Bihar and also announced several development projects for the state. Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan (also known as Pappu Yadav) was present at the event.
In this context, a video of Pappu Yadav, dressed in saffron and chanting praises of Lord Rama, is circulating on social media (here, here, and here). The posts claim that after his interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration of Purnia Airport, Pappu Yadav became “saffronised.” Let’s verify the claim made in the post in this article.

Fact: The video of Pappu Yadav in saffron, chanting praises of Lord Rama, is not after he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Purnia Airport inauguration on 15 September 2025. The visuals are from a Ram Navami Shobha Yatra held on 06 April 2025, where Pappu Yadav took part in processions and addressed people at multiple locations in Purnia. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
To verify the claim, we searched online for any religious procession involving Pappu Yadav after 15 September 2025 but found no credible media reports of such an event.
We then conducted a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video, which led us to an Instagram post by Pappu Yadav dated 07 April 2025 featuring the same video. This confirms that the video predates the Purnia Airport inauguration in Bihar on 15 September 2025.
On 07 April 2025, Pappu Yadav also posted another video from the same location with the hashtag “Ram Navami.” In this video, he is seen giving a speech, and a signboard reading “Shri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra” is clearly visible in the background.
We also came across a news video published on the YouTube channel of Bharat TV 24 on 08 April 2025, featuring the same viral visuals. According to this report, Pappu Yadav joined the Shobha Yatra held on the occasion of Ram Navami on 06 April 2025. At several locations, including Durga Sthan Madhubani, Madhubani Bazaar, Municipal Corporation Chowk, R.N. Shah Chowk, Bhatta Bazaar, and Rajni Chowk, he participated with the crowd in chanting praises of Lord Shri Ram.
