The fast-moving water then carries away the individuals. The video is being shared with the claim that the incident took place in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, during a rafting accident. Some users have also claimed that the video is from Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.

Fact: The video shows a river rafting mishap that occurred on 29 March 2025 in the River Vrbas near Banja Luka in Bosnia. Media reports confirm that a group from the ‘RK Buk’ rafting club was involved. Their boat overturned due to high water flow caused by rising water levels. All members were rescued safely, and no casualties were reported. The video has no connection to Rishikesh or any other city in India. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

To verify the claim, we performed a reverse image search using keyframes from the viral video, which led us to an Instagram post on the account ‘raftingbuk’. The post, dated 30 March 2025, features the same video and mentions that the incident took place on the River Vrbas in Banja Luka.

Based on clues from the Instagram post, we searched using relevant keywords and found multiple media reports on the incident (here, here, and here). As per these reports, on 29 March 2025, a group went rafting in the Vrbas River near Banja Luka city in Bosnia. Due to a sharp rise in water levels, the river was in a flood-like state. During their rafting trip, their boat overturned, throwing all passengers into the river. They were swept away by the strong current but were all rescued safely. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The group reportedly belonged to a rafting club named ‘RK Book’. A club member quoted in the news said they had intentionally chosen to raft in such weather for the thrill of adventure. They were experienced and had rafted in the river before. Despite the boat capsizing, everyone made it out safely.
