A video of a building on fire in England is falsely shared as the aftermath of an Iranian missile strike on Tel Aviv
Amid the ongoing Israel-Iran tensions in June 2025, a video showing a building engulfed in flames is going viral across social media platforms. It is being shared with the claim that it shows the aftermath of an Iranian missile strike on Tel Aviv (here, here, here, and here). Through this article, let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: The video shows a building in Tel Aviv engulfed in flames after being hit by an Iranian missile.
Fact: This viral video has no connection to the recent Iran–Israel conflict in June 2025. It actually shows a fire that broke out in a building at Henley College on Henley Road, Coventry, England, on the evening of 29 April 2025. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to a video featuring similar visuals. This video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) on 04 May 2025. As the video predates the recent Iran–Israel conflict, which began on 13 June 2025, it is clear that the footage is not related to the ongoing conflict. In the comments section of the post on X, some users, citing news reports, mentioned that the viral video actually shows a fire at the abandoned Henley College building in the United Kingdom on 29 April 2025.
Taking a cue from this, we then conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to several news reports related to the incident, some of which also featured keyframes from the viral video. According to these reports (here, here, here and here), the fire broke out in a disused building at Henley College on Henley Road, Coventry, on the evening of 29 April 2025. The West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) deployed 12 crews to Henley Road to bring the blaze under control. The reports further stated that there were no casualties in the incident. According to the West Midlands Fire Service and the BBC, the fire was deliberately set, and two boys were arrested by West Midlands Police in connection with the case.
We also geo-located the site shown in the viral video (the fire accident location) using Google Maps. The location in the video is Henley Road, Coventry, England. From this, it is evident that the video shows a fire that occurred at a Henley College building in England in April 2025.
To sum it up, a video of a building on fire in England is being falsely shared as the aftermath of an Iranian missile strike on Tel Aviv.
