Fact: The video is actually from João Pessoa, Brazil, where a 22-year-old motorcycle courier was fatally shot on 4 October 2024. Media reports confirm the incident occurred in Brazil, not India. Hence the claim is FALSE.
To verify the claim, we conducted a reverse image search on Google and found the same video uploaded on the video-hosting site BitChute on 7 October 2024. According to the description, the incident took place in João Pessoa, Brazil, where a 22-year-old man named Gabriel Júnior de Oliveira Medeiros was fatally shot by assailants on another motorcycle while riding on Avenida Dom Manuel Paiva.
Further research led us to several Brazilian media reports (here, here and here) that featured the same visuals from the viral video. All the reports stated that the incident occurred on 4 October 2024, when a 22-year-old man was shot dead while riding a motorcycle along Rua Dom Manoel Paiva, in the Mandacaru neighbourhood of João Pessoa.
According to media reports, on 4 October 2024, a 22-year-old motorcycle courier named Gabriel Júnior de Oliveira Medeiros was shot dead in the Mandacaru neighbourhood of João Pessoa, Brazil. Security footage shows two men on a motorcycle approaching him, with the pillion rider firing multiple shots while both vehicles were moving. Gabriel was reportedly making a payment at a lottery house at the time and had no criminal record.
Additionally, a keyword search on Google for any such recent incident in India did not yield any relevant results.
