Fact: This is an old video from May 2022 when Navneet Rana was seen crying in the arms of her husband, Ravi Rana, in Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital. Hence, the claim made in the post is Misleading.
To check the veracity of the viral claim, we performed an internet search using relevant keywords. This search led us to the original video clip (here and here), which is actually from May 2022.
After reportedly being arrested on 23 April 2022 for ‘for threatening to recite the Hanuman Chalisa outside ‘Matoshree,’ which is the official residence of the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at Kalanagar in Bandra East.,’ she and her husband were released from jail on bail, and Navneet Rana was admitted in Lilavati hospital (here and here).
The visulas in the viral video were filmed when Navneet Rana’s husband, Ravi Rana, met her. She cried during this interaction, and the same visuals are now being shared misleadingly as her reaction to the loss in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
