A video going viral on social media (here, here, and here) shows a group of girls walking on the road in uniforms. As they walk, a biker rides past inappropriately touching one of the girls and quickly drives away. Later in the video, a man is seen beaten by the police while being paraded on the road. The post claims that Uttar Pradesh police punished the man after his inappropriate behaviour was captured on CCTV. Let’s verify the claim made in the post through this article.
Claim: Video shows a biker inappropriately touching a girl, driving away, and later being punished by the Uttar Pradesh police.
Fact: The viral video combines clips from two separate & unrelated incidents from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, and has nothing to do with Uttar Pradesh. The first clip shows a molestation case in Parbhani, Maharashtra, where Md. Aslam Salim harassed a college girl on 06 December 2024 and was arrested. The second clip shows a murder accused, Vikas Kuchbandia, being paraded by police in Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh, after he killed Madhur Chaurasia over a financial dispute on 05 December 2024. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
To verify the video of a biker inappropriately touching a girl and driving away, we conducted a reverse image search of the keyframes from the viral video that led us to a news report by SRS Khabar24 on their YouTube channel, dated 09 December 2024, featuring the same video. The video is titled “College girl molested on the road in PARBHANI SRS KHABAR24 NEWS.”
Taking clues from the news report, we searched using relevant Marathi keywords and found a report by the Marathi daily Deshonnati, dated 09 December 2024 covering the same incident. According to the report, on 06 December 2024, a group of college girls was on their way to the District General Hospital behind Mahatma Phule College when a young man on a two-wheeler harassed one of them. A molestation case was filed at the Nanalpeth police station, and the entire incident was captured on CCTV. Based on the footage, the police traced the accused, Md. Aslam Salim, who was arrested from Dharmapuri in Parli taluka.

The video is titled “Gadarwara: Madhur Chaurasia murdered over a transaction of Rs 40 thousand. MP News | News Update | “MP Police.”
Taking clues from the news report, we searched using relevant keywords and found reports (here and here) covering the same incident. According to the report, Vikas Kuchbandia of Gadarwara in Narsinghpur is accused of killing Madhur Chaurasia by slitting his throat with a razor and hitting his head with a stone on 05 December 2024. Based on the evidence obtained, the police arrested Vikas Niras Kuchbandia, the accused. The report said that the accused had killed Madhur Chaurasia for not returning Rs 40,000 taken from him some time back.
