A simulation video from a game shared as ‘Real video of PIA plane crash in Karachi’

A video of a plane crash is being shared widely on social media with a claim that it shows the real video of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger plane crash on 22 May 2020 in Karachi. In the video, the text – ‘2016 runsame’ can be seen. So, when searched with relevant keywords, the same video was found on YouTube. It was uploaded by ‘runsame’ in December 2016 with the title – ‘Extreme Crash PIA ATR 42 Flight 661 Islamabad’. In the description of the video, it can be read that the video was created using Microsoft’s ‘Flight Simulator X’ game. Many other simulation videos can be found on his YouTube account. So, the video is old and is not of a real-life incident. If you carefully observe the video, it is clear that the video shows a virtual environment.
