A video going viral on social media (here, here, and here) shows a series of dance performances of birds, where a bird transforms into a girl and then into a flower during a performance, leaving the judges stunned. Let’s verify the truth behind this video.

The archive version of the video can be found here.

Claim: This video shows a series of dance performances by birds where a bird transforms into a girl and then into a flower, leaving the judges stunned.

Fact: The viral video is a clipped AI-generated video. The judges’ reactions were taken from a “Britain’s Got Talent” YouTube video published on 19 June 2022, titled “Most Dangerous Auditions 2022 | BGT 2022.” The dancing bird’s footage is taken from a YouTube channel “Interesting and Natural,” known for posting videos of animals dancing. AI detection tools confirmed the the videos on this handle are AI-generated. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video of the judge’s reactions led us to the original YouTube video, uploaded by “Britain’s Got Talent” on 19 June 2022, titled “Most Dangerous Auditions 2022 | BGT 2022.” Upon closely watching the video and analyzing it frame by frame, we found that the judges’ reactions matched (here, here, and here) when contestants performed dangerous stunts. There were no birds or animal dance performances in these episodes. This confirms that a compilation of two different videos was edited to make the viral video.

We then did a reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video of bird dancing which led us to the YouTube channel “Interesting and Natural.” The same viral videos of birds dancing were posted there. However, no disclaimers regarding animation, editing, or AI-generated content were mentioned anywhere.

Since we couldn’t find any disclaimers about animation, editing, or AI-generated content, we ran these clips through the Hive AI detector, which confirmed that these videos are 99.4% AI-generated.

To further verify, we used another tool, Hugging Face, with a screenshot from the viral video. It also indicated that 88% of the video was generated using AI.

To sum up, a clipped AI-generated video is falsely shared as a stunning dance performance of Birds transforming into humans.
