A BTS clip from the Assamese TV show Beharbari Outpost is falsely shared as UP police apprehending eve-teasers in disguise

A video (here and here) circulating on social media is being shared with a claim that police officers in Uttar Pradesh disguised themselves as women to apprehend eve-teasers. The clip shows men dressed in sarees, with one seen detaining two others, suggesting that officers went undercover to trap the suspects. Let’s find the truth behind this video.

Claim: The viral video shows real police officers in Uttar Pradesh dressed as women to apprehend eve-teasers.

Fact: The video is not from Uttar Pradesh but from the set of the Assamese comedy TV show Beharbari Outpost. The clip is part of a scripted scene, not a real police operation. Hence the claim is FASLE.

To verify the claim, we performed a reverse image search on Google, which led us to the same video uploaded on a YouTube channel named Biditsarmavlogs. The video description stated that it was from the shooting of Beharbari Outpost, an Assamese-language comedy series.

On the same channel, we found several (BTS) behind-the-scenes videos (here and here) from the show’s filming location. These clips feature the same police officers and the alleged miscreants seen in the viral video, with one of them even reading from a script, confirming that the scene was staged.

Further research led us to Beharbari Outpost Episode 3322, uploaded on Rengoni TV’s official YouTube channel. The same police officer seen in the viral clip appears as a character in this and several other episodes (here and here), confirming that the video was shot for the show and not a real-life incident.

A visual comparison between the police officer in the viral video and the Beharbari Outpost character makes it evident that both show the same person, proving that the viral video is scripted and not genuine.

To sum up, a behind-the-scenes clip from the Assamese TV show Beharbari Outpost is falsely shared as UP police catching eve-teasers in disguise.
