A gruesome video of a bull being killed using a JCB is being widely shared on social media with a description that translates to ‘Who used to say that #Baba’s #bulldozer only runs on #Muslims. Those people see that #Baba does justice #equally.’ in a veiled reference to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. During the campaign for the recently concluded 2022 UP Assembly Elections, UP CM Yogi Adityanath was widely referred to as ‘Bulldozer baba’. Let’s verify if the brutal video of the bull being killed is from Uttar Pradesh.

Fact: The incident in the video took place in the month of October 2019 in Pondwadi Village of Indapur Taluka in Pune District of Maharashtra State. The same has been informed by the investigating police officer to the media. This video has nothing to do with Uttar Pradesh. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When the screenshots of the video were run through Google Reverse Image Search, many similar videos were found in the search results. Several media agencies have reported about the incident in 2019. Some of them can be seen here, here, here, and here. The incident in the video took place in the month of October 2019 in Pondwadi Village of Indapur Taluka in Pune District of Maharashtra State. The same has been informed by the investigating police officer to the media.

In the ‘Mumbai Mirror’ report, it can be read – “According to local villagers, the farmers could not afford to keep the aged bull and thus decided to kill it in a brutal manner. The Maharashtra Police has now booked 2 absconding persons in connection with the brutal killing of the bull.” So, the incident in the video is not related to Uttar Pradesh.
