Claim: West Bengal 2021 assembly election schedule.

Fact: The schedule of Bengal assembly polls is not yet released. PIB through a tweet also iterated the same. This schedule being shared is actually that of 2019 Lok Sabha general elections in West Bengal.  Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Search on Election Commission of India website did not yield us any results with respect to the schedule of the upcoming assembly elections. Also, we could not find any news articles stating the release of the West Bengal assembly election schedule.

Further search on West Bengal CEO website yielded us the schedule of 2019 Lok Sabha General Elections. In this schedule, the poll dates of 2019 elections to West Bengal Parliament constituencies are the same as those in the post, except for the change in year. Also, the names and number of constituencies mentioned in the post are actually of the 42 Parliament constituencies in Bengal. All these establish that the schedule of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections is being falsely shared as the upcoming assembly election schedule.

Google search with relevant keywords led us to a tweet by PIB dated 16 February 2021 debunking this purported schedule of Bengal assembly elections. According to this tweet, the election schedule of West Bengal is not yet released, and the tweet rated the news as fake.

In view of the upcoming Bengal assembly polls, posts like these are being shared with false and misleading claims.

To sum it up, 2019 General Election schedule is passed off as that of the upcoming West Bengal 2021 assembly polls.
