Claim:  Video of  French police assaulting a Muslim woman.

Fact:  This incident took place in Calgary city in Canada, not in France. In 2017, a Calgary cop slammed a handcuffed black woman to the floor while she resisted him taking off her headscarf. This incident in the video is old and has nothing to do with the recent turn of events in France. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of screenshots in the video, similar visuals were found in an article published by the Daily Mail. In the article, it is mentioned that a Calgary cop forcefully hurled a handcuffed black woman to the floor after she resisted him to take off her headscarf. This incident reportedly took place in Calgary city of Canada during 2017. It is mentioned in the article that the Calgary constable Alex Dunn was charged with assault causing bodily harm over the incident during the arrest of Dalia Kafi in 2017. This assault footage was shown to the court recently at Dunn’s trial. Kafi is arrested on the charges of breaching court-ordered curfew in 2017. The black woman’s nose bones cracked as her face hit the ground.

Sharing the same visuals, ‘Global News’ and ‘CBC’ news websites also published articles about this incident. They can be read here and here.

To sum it up, 2017 video of Calgary police assaulting a black woman is now being shared now as a Muslim woman assaulted by French Police.
